Volleyball Recap: Cooper City Cowboys vs. American Heritage Patriots
Cooper City had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the American Heritage Patriots on Thursday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.
The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: American Heritage scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19.
Sophia Tellez paced Cooper City's offense, picking up six kills. Tellez got some help from Devin Dillon and her six assists. Dillon was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Cooper City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Franklin Academy on the 14th. As for American Heritage, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Highlands Christian on the 18th.
