Softball Recap: Bellmont Braves vs. Heritage Patriots

Bellmont took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Heritage, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Braves had just enough and edged out the Patriots 5-4 on Wednesday. This was payback for the Braves, who suffered a 12-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Bella Ashley made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). In other batting news, Finnley Godsey was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Liz Bobay also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
