Soccer Game Preview: Taos vs. Los Alamos

Taos is 0-10 against Los Alamos since March of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Tigers will host the Hilltoppers at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Los Alamos better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Taos' game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when Taos really gets things going. The Tigers' defense stepped up to hand Pojoaque Valley a 4-0 shutout. Considering Taos have won six contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Los Alamos' game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Moriarty. That three goal margin sets a new team best for Los Alamos this season.

They hit Moriarty with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Margaret Steinkamp, Maren Dixon, and Rafa Rocha.

Los Alamos pushed their record up to 7-6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three matchups. As for Taos, the victory got them back to even at 7-7-1.

Taos suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Los Alamos in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
