Basketball Game Preview: Lane Tech Champions vs. Evanston Wildkits

The Lane Tech Champions will face off against the Evanston Wildkits at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lane Tech knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Evanston likes a good challenge.

Lane Tech is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 67-57 victory over New Trier. The Champions haven't had any issues with the Trevians recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Zach Mazanowski went supernova for Lane Tech, going 7-for-15 on his way to 22 points and seven boards. Mazanowski continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Matthew Szafoni, who posted 14 points and eight rebounds.

Lane Tech was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They are 18-5 when they've passed the ball that well.

Highland Park typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Evanston proved too difficult a challenge. They breezed past the Giants to the tune of 64-32. The Wildkits have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 22 points or more this season.

Lane Tech's victory bumped their record up to 20-11. As for Evanston, they pushed their record up to 27-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
