League recap: Spangler overpowering for Shade in past week

Western Pennsylvania league recap: 5/21/12

Shade's Bj Spangler was the best pitcher in the league this week. He picked up six wins and 46 strikeouts.

Ethan Keefer was on fire this week, as he led the league with a .500 average, one home run and 12 RBIs. Rockwood compiled a record of 2-1 in that time.

Although the Panthers finished first in the league this week with 117 hits, Conemaugh Township still sits atop the the league leaderboard with 198 total hits this season. With 21 hits this year Wade Walker leads the third-place squad, which finished with a 5-3 record this week.

The pitchers for the Panthers were stellar in leading the league with 75 strikeouts this week, but the Indians maintained their overall lead in that department with 146 Ks for the year. Spangler leads Shade with 58 strikeouts in 50 innings on the season.

Cody Kiser led the league with 16 hits this week for the Panthers. His 20 hits for the year are fourteenth in the league, and he boasts a .400 batting average.
