Preview: Winona Tigers vs. Nanih Waiya Warriors
Winona is 4-0 against Nanih Waiya since November of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Winona Tigers will be home for the holidays to greet the Nanih Waiya Warriors at 9:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Winona pushed their score all the way to 56 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Grenada on the road by a decisive 72-56 margin. Winona has struggled against Grenada recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Nanih Waiya's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 61-48 to West Lowndes. While losing is never fun, Nanih Waiya can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while West Lowndes is ranked 126th).
Winona's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-9. As for Nanih Waiya, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
