Basketball Recap: Kenzie Dahl's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Badger/Greenbush-Middle River over Kelliher/Northome

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Badger/Greenbush-Middle River can now relate to. They fell to the Kelliher/Northome Mustangs 77-73. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (59), the Gators still had to take the loss.

Badger/Greenbush-Middle River's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenzie Dahl, who dropped a double-double with 32 points and 15 rebounds. What's more, Dahl also posted a 45% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Teagan Landsrud, who went 7-for-12 en route to 18 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Kelliher/Northome got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kate Thayer out in front who almost dropped a triple-double with 27 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. Thayer has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 57 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Binkley, who shot 40% from the field on her way to 22 points along with six boards and five assists.

Badger/Greenbush-Middle River's defeat dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Kelliher/Northome, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-3.

Badger/Greenbush-Middle River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kelliher/Northome, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-46 victory against Warren-Alvarado-Oslo on the 4th.
