Softball Recap: Valley City Takes a Loss

After flying high against Fargo South last Thursday, Valley City came back down to earth. The Hi-Liners lost 14-4 to the Shanley Deacons on Tuesday. The Hi-Liners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Deacons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Bailey Leroux made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Valley City now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Shanley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Valley City will square off against rival Red River at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Shanley is set to challenge their familiar foe Horace at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
