Volleyball Recap: Patuxent's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Patuxent couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Clear Spring Blazers on Friday, falling 3-0. The shutout was out of character for the Panthers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-12, 25-12.

Leading Clear Spring to victory were Malea Shingleton and Callie Hose. Shingleton had 32 assists and ten digs, while Hose had nine digs and five aces. Shingleton has been hot, having posted 26 or more assists the last five times she's played.

The defeat snapped Patuxent's winning streak at five matches and leaves them with a 8-4 record. As for Clear Spring, they pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
