Baseball Recap: Southwood Comes Up Short

Southwood was the 17-1 winner over Bossier when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Cowboys lost 14-4 to the Bearkats on Tuesday. The Cowboys have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jason Mosley was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 1-for-2. Southwood is 2-1 when Mosley posts two or more runs, but 4-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Chadarius Rhines, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Southwood's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-14. As for Bossier, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwood will square off against Stanley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bossier, they will face off against the Cowboys at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
