Basketball Recap: Wahlert Comes Up Short

Wahlert was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Cedar Falls Tigers, falling 81-59. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Tigers are ranked first).

Wahlert's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Cedar Falls, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Looking ahead, Wahlert will square off against Waterloo West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Waterloo West's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Cedar Falls, they will challenge Hempstead at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Cedar Falls' favor as the squad sits on 17 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Hempstead has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
