De Pere is a perfect 10-0 against Notre Dame Academy since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Redbirds will challenge the Tritons at 11:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
De Pere will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Manitowoc Lincoln on Thursday. The Redbirds never let the Ships get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Redbirds as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Bella Robinett was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last ten contests. Ava Krepline also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
De Pere always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manitowoc Lincoln only posted an OBP of .118.
Notre Dame Academy came out on top against Manitowoc Lincoln on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run first inning. The Tritons put the hurt on the Ships with a sharp 11-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tritons.
Ella Nowak was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Nowak was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run.
In other batting news, Notre Dame Academy got a massive performance out of Olivia Waldrop, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Waldrop is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Jahner, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Notre Dame Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-12. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for De Pere, their record now sits at 15-8.
Saturday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. De Pere hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. However, it's not like Notre Dame Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went De Pere's way against Notre Dame Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as De Pere made off with a 9-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redbirds since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
