Softball Recap: Lakeland Takes a Loss

Lakeland fell victim to Medford and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. Having soared to a lofty 27 runs in the game before, the Thunderbirds' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Lakeland's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Medford, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Lakeland will challenge rival Tomahawk at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Medford is set to square off against their familiar foe Mosinee at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Raiders 2.9, the Indians 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
