Basketball Recap: Summit Shasta Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Summit Shasta had won 12 straight home games dating back to last season and Niesha Ramirez did her part to make it 13 on Tuesday. The Summit Shasta Black Bears breezed by the Basis Independent Silicon Valley Bobcats to the tune of 76-7 thanks in part to Ramirez, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 16 boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Macario, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 11 points and eight steals. She is becoming a predictor of Summit Shasta's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 4-2 (and 1-2 when she doesn't).

Summit Shasta now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Basis Independent Silicon Valley, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Summit Shasta will head out to challenge Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Basis Independent Silicon Valley has already played their next contest (against The Nueva School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
