Pompton Lakes came into Saturday's matchup looking for another win against Waldwick/Midland Park, but Dylan Ferrara wouldn't allow it. The Warriors walked away with a 42-35 victory over the Cardinals on Saturday thanks in part to Ferrara, who rushed for 246 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.3 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 117.6 rushing yards per game.

Luciano Mayer also helped out as he racked up 148 rushing yards. What's more, he's the contest marked his third straight with at least 148.

Pompton Lakes' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonah Fabian, who threw for 133 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight passes, and also rushed for 53 yards and one score on only seven carries. Fabian also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making eight total tackles and defending one pass. Sebastian Lopez was in the mix as well, providing Pompton Lakes with two TDs.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Pompton Lakes, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Waldwick/Midland Park will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Arlington at 7:00 p.m. As for Pompton Lakes, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Manchester Regional at 6:00 p.m. on October 10.
