Softball Recap: Premont Cowboys vs. Freer Buckaroos
Premont extended their losing streak to 13 on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-16. They came up short against the Freer Buckaroos, falling 18-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buckaroos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-8 back in March.

On Freer's side, Aubree Aguillon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts Aguillon has posted since back in February. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Destinee Hinojosa was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Ysela Salinas, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.
Looking ahead, Premont will head out on the road to face off against La Villa at 6:00 a.m. on Friday. The Cowboys' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. Freer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
