Basketball Game Preview: Willcox Cowboys vs. St. David Tigers

The Willcox Cowboys will face off against the St. David Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Willcox's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while St. David has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

On Friday, Willcox lost to Morenci on the road by a 57-43 margin. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Wildcats are ranked 72nd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. David). Everything went their way against Rock Point on Friday as St. David made off with a 69-43 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Willcox's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for St. David, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
