Baseball Recap: Blackman Comes Up Short

Blackman fell victim to Oakland and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 1-0. The Blaze just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Andrew Monson spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 15 Ks.

Blackman's loss dropped their record down to 19-5. As for Oakland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11-1 record this season.

While Blackman had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
