Volleyball Game Preview: Munster Mustangs vs. McCutcheon Mavericks

The Munster Mustangs will head out to challenge the McCutcheon Mavericks at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Munster managed to slip by Illiana Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Vikings on Thursday. The match marked the first time this year in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-15, 25-17.

Meanwhile, McCutcheon posted their closest victory since March 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Lawrence North 3-2. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

McCutcheon wouldn't go down easily and took Lawrence North into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 27-29, 18-25, 25-23, 15-12.

Munster dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for McCutcheon, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
