McConnellsburg and Greensburg Central Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but McConnellsburg had to settle for second. They took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greensburg Central Catholic Centurions. The Spartans' defeat signaled the end of their 24-game winning streak.

McConnellsburg lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Hoyt Glenn, who posted 17 points along with four steals and three blocks. He has been hot for a while, having posted four or more steals the last 12 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Dominic Jefferson, who earned 14 points and five rebounds.

McConnellsburg's loss dropped their record down to 25-2. As for Greensburg Central Catholic, they pushed their record up to 22-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road.
