Basketball Game Preview: Eastern Alamance Eagles vs. Southeast Alamance Stallions

The Eastern Alamance Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Southeast Alamance Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastern Alamance is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Eastern Alamance lost to Chapel Hill at home by a 56-37 margin. The Eagles were down 48-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Eastern Alamance's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Marion Scott, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds, and Aliya Trollinger, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 15 points and seven boards. The dominant performance also gave Scott a new career-high in blocks (three).

Meanwhile, Southeast Alamance earned a 58-49 win over Northwood on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Stallions.

Eastern Alamance better focus on containing Shaniya Paylor and Clara LaChapelle as the pair were huge in Southeast Alamance's win. Paylor posted 15 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals, while LaChapelle dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. The match was Paylor's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rreanna Johnson, who put up eight points.

Eastern Alamance's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3. As for Southeast Alamance, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Eastern Alamance beat Southeast Alamance 59-51 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Paylor, who had 21 points and three steals.
