Welsh posted their closest win since March 20, 2024 on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Rosepine Eagles 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Greyhounds in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Dane Iguess was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Wyatt Kershaw was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Nick Gillett also deserves some recognition as he hit his first hit of the season.

Welsh's record now sits at 2-3. As for Rosepine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Welsh will take on DeQuincy in a tournament on Friday. As for Rosepine, they will welcome Sacred Heart at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
