Basketball Recap: Wayne Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Wayne lost to Newark back in February, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Wayne Eagles walked away with a 66-53 win over the Newark Reds. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Reds are ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wayne pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Newark, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.

Looking ahead, Wayne will challenge Geneva at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. Wayne knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Geneva likes a good challenge. Newark does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
