Aliya Strock leads Sandpoint to victory over Grangeville

Recap: Sandpoint Bulldogs vs. Grangeville Bulldogs

On Thursday, the Sandpoint Bulldogs faced the Grangeville Bulldogs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sandpoint snuck past Grangeville with a 64-58 win. 64 seems to be a good number for Sandpoint as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

It was another big night for Aliya Strock, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Sandpoint's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brecken Mire, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds.

Grangeville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Madalyn Green, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. The game was Green's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Addisyn Vanderwall, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Sandpoint, bringing their record for this year to 9-1. As for Grangeville, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-1.

Sandpoint and Madison will round out the year against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. Grangeville will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Lewiston at 9:00 a.m. on December 28, 2023. Lewiston will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Grangeville is ranked ninth).
