Basketball Recap: Platte Valley Comes Up Short

Platte Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 72-35 loss at the hands of the Resurrection Christian Cougars. The Broncos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.

Despite the loss, Platte Valley still got an impressive performance from Regan Edstrom, who posted 18 points. Edstrom's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Hazen Weber, who earned five points and three steals.

Graham Riggs continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Resurrection Christian, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Riggs has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Yoder, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 assists.

Platte Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Resurrection Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.

Platte Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-55 loss against Brush on the 14th. As for Resurrection Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-41 win against Highland on the 14th.
