Baseball Recap: Cesar Chavez Starts Season with Win at Home

Cesar Chavez gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They never let the Kellis Cougars get on the board and left with a 20-0 win.

Andrew Garcia was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Garcia was even better at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Adolfo Pacheco was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Eddie Pedroza, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Cesar Chavez kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
