Football Recap: Troy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After soaring to 42 points the game before, Troy was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a blow against the Little River Academy Bumblebees, falling 49-7. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.

When it comes to explaining why Troy lost, don't look at Jayden Lucky. Despite the final result, he rushed for 145 yards and one TD. Lucky's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 120 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Little River Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brian Grissom, who rushed for 310 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 18.2 yards per carry, and also caught one touchdown. Grissom also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Bumblebees are 4-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tyler Hoffman, who threw for 150 yards and three TDs.

Troy's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Little River Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.
