Volleyball Recap: Malcolm Takes Down Ranked Norfolk Catholic

Malcolm faced Norfolk Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Clippers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Knights 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Clippers have posted since September 27th.

Malcolm had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-21, 25-16.

Malcolm is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Norfolk Catholic, their defeat ended a 17-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-3.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Malcolm and Nebraska City will shake off the rust and duke it out on the 13th. As for Norfolk Catholic, they will host Aquinas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
