Baseball Recap: Osage City Drops Season-High Score on Northern Heights

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Osage City). Everything went their way against the Northern Heights Wildcats on Monday as they made off with a 16-1 victory. With that win, the Indians brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Logan McKinney was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. McKinney was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on JD Tyson, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sevrin Rumold, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Osage City hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.

Osage City now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Northern Heights, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Osage City will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair will be back at it again later today.
