Baseball Recap: Braddock Gets the Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Braddock had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Nova Titans a 13-0 shutout. The Bulldogs not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 24th (when they won 14-0).

Jesus Moreno tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Jorge Gonzalez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marcelo Torres, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Braddock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .542. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nova only posted an OBP of .176.

Braddock's win bumped their record up to 19-7-1. As for Nova, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-12.

Braddock will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Titans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
