Baseball Recap: Hurley Comes Up Short

Hurley lost a heartbreaker to New Covenant Academy when they met back in April of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Wednesday. The Tigers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-9 to the Warriors, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost eight in a row.

Noah Powell and Mason Dunn did some serious damage despite the final result: Powell scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4, while Dunn scored three runs while going 3-for-5. Dunn also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Hurley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for New Covenant Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hurley will welcome Walnut Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Covenant Academy, they will take on Billings at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
