Downingtown East hit Avon Grove with a four-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils fell 8-3 to the Cougars. The Red Devils' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Avon Grove got a good showing from Grady O'Rourke, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits O'Rourke has allowed since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Avon Grove saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Myles Raymond, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Another was Logan Nelson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Avon Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Downingtown East, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
