Softball Recap: Plainfield Quakers vs. Carmel Greyhounds
Plainfield took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Carmel Greyhounds 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Quakers have posted since April 16, 2024.
Kami Arnett made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Arnett was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other pitching news, Sidney Parks looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits.

Back at the plate, Plainfield let Kylie Fish and Kenzi Arnett run wild. Fish scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Arnett scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Arnett a new career-high in doubles (two).
Plainfield hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carmel struck out 12 times.
