Baseball Recap: Chaparral Has No Trouble Against Brighton

Chaparral got themselves on the board against Brighton on Tuesday, but Brighton never followed suit. They blew past the Bulldogs 9-0. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Josh Sutrina, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cal Tiner, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Chaparral was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Chaparral now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Brighton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.

Chaparral will challenge Eaglecrest at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Brighton, they will take on Mountain Range at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.45 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
