Baseball Recap: West Orange Comes Up Short

West Orange entered their contest against Caldwell on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Mountaineers came up short against the Chiefs, falling 12-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mountaineers have suffered since April 7, 2025.

West Orange saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jay Stevenson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. That double was Stevenson's first of the season.

West Orange's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Caldwell, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

West Orange didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 win against Newton on the 14th. Hopefully Caldwell paid attention to the Mountaineers' game: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Mountaineers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
