Recap: Dixie Hornets vs. Whitmire Wolverines
The Dixie Hornets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past Whitmire 53-29. That 24 points margin sets a new team best for Dixie this season.
Dixie found their leader in underclassman Jaylia Turner, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Turner has scored at least a third of Dixie's points. Kerri O'Shields was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
Dixie's win ended a 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-8. As for Whitmire, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind the next time they take the court. Dixie will head out to face South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Whitmire will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
