Recap: J.L. Mann Patriots vs. Hillcrest Rams
The J.L. Mann Patriots can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 68-38 win over Hillcrest at home. Given J.L. Mann's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Hillcrest is ranked 185th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
J.L. Mann's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anaya Dillard led the charge by scoring nine points. Another player making a difference was Olivia McKinney, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
J.L. Mann is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for Hillcrest, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.
J.L. Mann will be playing at home against Clover at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Clover focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday. Hillcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
