Basketball Recap: Ida Baker Comes Up Short

Ida Baker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 54-35 bruising from the Dunbar Tigers. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Ida Baker lost, don't look at Maia Berdebes. Despite the final result, she posted 17 points and five rebounds.

Dunbar's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addision Fuhr, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. Fuhr has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Deziar Davenport, who put up 13 points and three steals.

Ida Baker's record now sits at 2-9. As for Dunbar, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Babcock the next time they take the court. Dunbar will head out to face Babcock at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, while Ida Baker will head out to face them at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
