Basketball Recap: Southeast Lauderdale Takes a Loss

Southeast Lauderdale fought the good fight in their overtime match against McLaurin on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the McLaurin Tigers 57-51. Southeast Lauderdale was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced McLaurin earlier this season, when they won 51-45.

McLaurin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Wallace, who went 7 of 17 en route to 21 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tylon Williams, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 14 points.

Southeast Lauderdale's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 12-8. As for McLaurin, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeast Lauderdale will welcome Enterprise at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for McLaurin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Noxubee County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. McLaurin is facing Noxubee County at the right time seeing as Noxubee County is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
