The Sunnyside Blue Devils will head out to challenge the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sunnyside 3.3, Tucson High Magnet School 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Sunnyside and Rincon/University, and Sunnyside kept the tradition alive. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Rangers on Tuesday. Considering the Blue Devils have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Tatyana Vega was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Sunnyside got a massive performance out of Kasandra Alcaraz, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Bianca Cobo, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Sunnyside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was in their last 12 contests.
Meanwhile, Tucson High Magnet School waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with an 11-6 win over the Tigers.
Alyssa Torres spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jaliyah Grigsby, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Trejo, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4.
Sunnyside has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Tucson High Magnet School, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7.
Both Sunnyside and Tucson High Magnet School just can't seem to miss. The Blue Devils have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Tucson High Magnet School struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Sunnyside couldn't quite finish off Tucson High Magnet School in their previous matchup last Tuesday and fell 2-0. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
