Softball Recap: Daviess County's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

With a playoff win on the line, Daviess County rose to the challenge on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the South Warren Spartans 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Sophia Cain tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Daviess County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamryn Timmons, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Timmons has posted since back in April.

Daviess County's victory bumped their record up to 28-5. As for South Warren, with the defeat, they broke their 12-game winning streak and moved their record to 34-4.

As of now, neither Daviess County nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
