Basketball Game Preview: Sherman Tide vs. Tug Valley Panthers

Sherman hasn't had much luck against Tug Valley recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Sherman Tide will square off against the Tug Valley Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sherman is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They secured a 48-42 W over Wirt County.

Meanwhile, Tug Valley came tearing into Friday's game with 17 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.4 points), and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Titans by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 86-49. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 25 points or more this season.

Sherman is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points over those games. Tug Valley's win bumped their record up to 22-2.

Sherman was dealt a bruising 69-30 defeat at the hands of Tug Valley when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can Sherman avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
