Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Lakeview's 13th in Last 14 Outings

Lakeview had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Crestwood Red Devils on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Ava Bacon spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lakeview let Kalyssa Werner and Kennedy Bartlett run wild. Werner went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Bartlett went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Bartlett is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Rylee Barnot was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Lakeview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crestwood only posted an OBP of .261.

Lakeview has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Crestwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-16.
