Northwestern proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Norland Vikings 3-2. For the Bulls, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.
Northwestern was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-20, 19-25, 24-26, 25-23, 15-7.
Despite the loss, Norland still got an impressive performance from David Thomas, who had 18 assists.
Northwestern's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Norland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwestern will square off against Booker T. Washington at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Norland, they will challenge North Miami at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
