Baseball Recap: Ashley Ridge Comes Up Short

Ashley Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the James Island Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, with their most recent loss being a 9-2 defeat on Wednesday.

Ashley Ridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Tuthill, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Ashley Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for James Island, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ashley Ridge will square off against West Ashley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for James Island, they will challenge Stall at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
