Softball Recap: Bowie Takes a Loss

If Bowie was riding high fresh off their 12-1 takedown of McLeod on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates fell just short of the Maud Cardinals by a score of 10-8 on Thursday. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 22-7.

Abigail Dial was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Callie Allen was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Bowie's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Maud, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5.

Bowie has already played their next game, an 11-1 win against McLeod on the 11th. As for Maud, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-5 victory against Detroit on the 11th.
