Softball Game Preview: Ellicottville Eagles vs. Allegany-Limestone Gators

Ellicottville is 0-4 against Allegany-Limestone since March of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Eagles will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Gators at 5:00 p.m.

Ellicottville is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They fell just short of Gowanda by a score of 9-7 on Monday.

Courtney Marsh and Riley Whitmer stepped up to the plate in a big way. Marsh went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Whitmer scored a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Ande Northrup, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Allegany-Limestone put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over Randolph.

Ellicottville suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Allegany-Limestone in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
