Volleyball Recap: Westminster Christian Academy Takes a Loss

If Westminster Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mae Jemison last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Priceville Bulldogs on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Westminster Christian Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-22, 25-18.

Elle Paparella paced Westminster Christian Academy's offense, picking up ten kills. Paparella got some help from Azlyn Leatherwood and her 17 assists. Leatherwood was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Westminster Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Priceville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Westminster Christian Academy and Priceville will both be playing Fort Payne the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
