Baseball Game Preview: Warden Cougars vs. Lake Roosevelt Raiders

The Warden Cougars will face off against the Lake Roosevelt Raiders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

It was a proper cat-fight when Warden faced off against River View on Friday. The Cougars fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost six in a row.

Warden saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Gonzalez, who went 2-for-4 with one double.

Meanwhile, Lake Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 26-1 to Okanogan. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Warden's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Lake Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Warden was able to grind out a solid victory over Lake Roosevelt in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 11-8. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
