Basketball Game Preview: Cleveland Rams vs. Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs

Cleveland is 0-8 against Southeast Raleigh since December of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 4:15 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

If Southeast Raleigh heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Cleveland took over last week. Cleveland blew past Garner 68-44 on Friday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Cleveland found their leader in sophomore Angelia Dunn, who went 13 for 23 on her way to 33 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Dunn has scored at least a third of Cleveland's points. Martina Paz-Aquino was another key player, putting up eight points along with 14 boards and five steals.

Meanwhile, Southeast Raleigh had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41.5 points) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Friday. They walked away with a 67-59 victory over the Titans.

Southeast Raleigh's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points over those games. As for Cleveland, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
